In ancient Roman religion and myth, Janus is the god of beginnings, gates, transitions, time, duality, doorways, passages, and endings. He is usually depicted as having two faces since he looks to the future and the past. It is conventionally thought that January is named for Janus. He had an ubiquitous presence in religious ceremonies throughout the year. As such, Janus was ritually invoked at the beginning of each ceremony, regardless of the main deity honoured on any particular occasion.
Janus in striped Praiano colour took its name from the old fishing village of the legendary Amalfi coast of Italy. One of our best selling frames, Janus is an elegantly chic looking frame combining high-grade acetates, and brushed bronze metals. A petite style designed for those who like a smaller fit.
Material: Handcrafted acetate frame fused with nickel hinges and rubber tipped screws.
Lenses: 100% UV UB protection. Australia & New Zealand standard.
Care: Don’t just throw these in the bottom of your bag. Don’t leave these in a hot car; sunglasses in the heat for too long will melt. Salt water and other chemicals don’t mix, so please don’t test the theory. Don’t use clothing or coarse materials to clean the lenses, use microfiber material or hot water and a tissue to clean the lens (we've included a cleaning cloth).
