(Resort) Business & Pleasure: Paris and London Summer '24

Paris is always a good idea.

We hopped the pond to see what’s happening in the world of resort wear, meeting some of our new designers while making time to fawn over familiar favorites. And of course, we caught up with some beloved American women chasing their dreams abroad...

Day 1: Paris

Arrived at the pied-à-terre of a dear designer friend and enjoyed dinner a block away at Le P’tit Canon; we were joined by Gabrielle, a fashion student in Paris and one of our best friend’s daughters.

Day 2: Paris

Spent the day at Splash, Europe's best resort wear show! Met with Greek Archaic Kori (LOVE them) and reviewed their new collection, everything to die for.

We also met with our friends at:

  • Pearl & Caviar (our other Greek luxury resort wear brand),
  • Lola Hats
  • Lem Lem

Our “mule” then arrived from Milan carrying a partial sample of the sandals we’ve spent a year pining for (available now in the shop!). Together with the full gang, we enjoyed a slow and luxurious dinner at Le Grand Colbert. The restaurant’s history could fill an entire Journal entry, but with us being Nancy Meyers fans, let’s just say the highlight was knowing the closing scene of Something’s Gotta Give was filmed there.

Day 3: Paris

So excited to meet the minds behind OAS, a fabulous brand we’re now carrying for our newest in-house endeavor: El Surf Nomad (formal intro coming soon...). The resort wear-style line is a “reaction to the Swedish winter” and has a so-retro-it’s-cool nostalgia to it. We got a sneak peek of the SS25 collection and picked out pieces from the SS24 collection, now ready to be shopped in Todos Santos and online!

And of course, we needed a trip to London Town.

Day 4-8: London

We couldn’t be in Paris and not take the quick trip across the channel to stay in London with Audrey for a few days!

Our first stop was Liberty- one of the best department stores in Europe, if not the entire world; visiting it is always inspirational. We paused and spent an afternoon working at Maison Assouline, surrounded by all its indulgent whimsy. (We’ve long carried a few of their gorgeous travel books and are likely adding more soon!)

London isn’t London without a few other favorites:

  • A visit to Fortnum & Mason with its top-notch merchandising
  • Lunch at Kiln, our favorite Thai restaurant in SoHo
  • Dinner at Noodles & Beer in Shoreditch
  • Dinner at Hakkasan
  • Tea at The Connaught
